Frequently Asked Questions
Won't multi-pass rendering take longer?
Yes; multipass rendering takes more time that doing a regular render,
however, the benefits are significant.
- It's easy to get great results compositing and image editting
using multiple passes.
- Multiple pass give you exact control over almost any aspect of
your image.
- If you want to make changes to the image, such as reducing the
intensity of a light or change its color, you can make those changes in
an image editor instead of re-rendering.
- Animators will find it easy to manipulate special effects using
multiple passes.
Plus, with GlowWorm's batch rendering abilities, you can have the
rendering done automatically in the background or while you sleep.
When I try to run GlowWorm, I get the error: Can't open
script
for reading (PEPythonEngine::DoScript())
You need to install the GlowWorm P6_Runtime installer to your main
Poser runtime (ie,
C:/Program Files/Poser 6/).
Why didn't the render stop when I clicked the stop button?
There is a delay between the "Stop Render" window appearing and
clicking the stop button because Poser cannot always immediately
process the stop action. The current render may have to finish before
GlowWorm stops processing your job. You can click the cancel button at
any time to stop the current render.
Why is GlowWorm rendering 30 frames?
Poser documents, by default, are 30 frames and have their movie
settings set to output frames 1-30. If you don't specify a frame range
in GlowWorm's job settings, GlowWorm will use the document's movie
settings.
What's a partial shader?
Partial shaders are shader
effects that can be created using ShaderSpider. If you specify a
partial shader (FX6 file) in the Render Pass window, that partial
shader will be applied to all materials in the scene after all other
aspects of the render pass are processed.
Can ShaderSpider run in Poser 5 or in DAZ Studio?
No.
