New in GlowWorm 1.2
Executable Render Jobs
You can now save "executable" render jobs (*.gwo.pzz files). An
executable render job will start a GlowWorm render without using the
GlowWorm interface, and attempt to close Poser when it's done.
Depth of Field Widget
The DOF widget lets you exactly control the focal point of Poser's
depth of field feature. To use this widget, add it to the scene. When
rendering, GlowWorm will automatically find it and set the camera's
focal length accordingly. If you are not rendering through GlowWorm,
you can apply GWO_DepthOfField again to update the camera's focal
length according to the position of the DOF widget.
Widget Animation
The Depth Cue and Depth of Field widgets can now be animated.
Bug Fixes / Changes
- GlowWorm can now properly read a file with an ampersand (&)
in its filename.
- The default setting for Output Frames is now "Current" instead of
"Use document settings."
- Specifying a frame range for Output Frames now works as expected.
- The STOP button has been made more responsive.
- A 13% speed improvement has been made to the diffuse color and
depth mask passes.
Known Issues
- Scenes with cloth simulators will always open to the first frame,
so "Current" may not work as intended. Use a specific frame range
instead.
All fixes and changes from GlowWorm 1.1 are included in the GlowWorm
1.2 update.

Render Widgets
Render widgets are objects that go into your scene that control how
GlowWorm renders your scene. There are three render widgets:
- GWO_Clipping, which lets
you divide up large, complicated renders. See the "Using Clipping" tutorial for details.
- GWO_DepthCue_Start, which
lets you control where the black (close) area of the depth mask starts.
See the "Fast Depth of Field" tutorial for
details on using the new DepthCue widgets.
- GWO_DepthCue_End, which
lets you control when the white (far) area of the depth mask starts.
See the "Fast Depth of Field" tutorial for
details on using the new DepthCue widgets.
Tutorials
Three new tutorials have been added.
- Ambient Occlusion, which
walks you through the different AO options, and troubleshooting common
problems.
- Fast Depth of Field, which shows you
how to use a depth mask and a normal render to create depth of field in
Photoshop.
- Using Clipping, which shows
explains how to use the new clipping widget to divide large scenes into
layers.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the "copyFile" bug.
