How to Save a MAT Pose
ShaderSpider makes MAT pose creation easy. It allows you to save
optimized MAT poses right from the Material Room. Follow these simple
steps to save a MAT pose:
1) Load a figure and set materials as desired.
I'll be using the Veiny-Vicki I made in the Partial
Shader tutorial.
2) Load the ShaderSpider Wacros.

Poser 6's Material Room includes a new feature called "Wacros" that
lets you execute time-saving Python scripts from a convenient menu. The
Wacros palette is located on the right hand side of the materials
palette (you can collapse it and expand it just like the Library). By
default, Poser has a full roster of wacros and the "User Defined" menu
button. Clicking on the "User Defined" button will pop up a menu with
"ShaderSpider" as an option. Choosing ShaderSpider will load the
ShaderSpider wacro buttons.
3) Click "Save MAT Pose"
This wacro allows you to select materials to include in a
material-applying pose, and then creates three versions of the pose:
One optimized for Poser 4/Artist, one for Poser 4 Pro, and one for
Poser 5/6. You will be prompted to choose a file path to save to, and
then select the materials to include. The methods for material
selection are functionally identical to the ones used for copying
materials. See the Material
Selection Window for more information. In this case, I've chosen to
include only specific materials: SkinHead, SkinScalp, and Lips.
That's all there is to it!
You can now apply any one of the poses you saved to load material
settings for your chosen materials. For more information on the
specific optmizations made for each MAT pose, see the Content Developers Guide.
